Buttock Enhancement Procedures
Ideal shape, volume and position of the buttocks is an indicator of youthfulness and beauty. Flattening and sagging of the buttocks can create an aged appearance. Like the rest of the body, the buttock changes over time. With significant weight loss and aging, the buttocks can lose volume and tone. Brazilian Butt Lift
Patients with youthful buttock skin tone who desire improved buttock volume, shape and projection may be good candidates for the Brazilian Butt Lift. This procedure involves a comprehensive liposuction procedure to gather body fat which is then processed and grafted into portions of the buttock that improve roundness, shape and projection. The technique is individualized, as the pattern of buttock volume deficiency is unique to each patient. Breast augmentation with using fat can also be done during the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure for to improved cleavage, breast shape and volume.
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a fat grafting procedure can be performed under IV sedation or general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. Patients are asked not to sit for longer than 20 minutes and to sleep on the belly for seven days. After this time period, normal sitting and sleeping positions can be resumed. Patients can return to work comfortably within 7-10 days. Patients can return to exercise as soon as they feel comfortable.
Buttock lift procedure
The Buttock Lift procedure is a component of a lower body lift that addresses circumferential lower body laxity as a result of weight loss or aging. It can also be done to improve the contour of flanks, thighs and buttocks after a previous tummy tuck procedure. Sagging excess skin is removed and the remaining buttock tissues are repositioned into a more youthful appearance. Using your own tissues a special auto-augmentation flap technique can be done to improve the volume and projection of the buttocks.
Typical Buttock Lift patients have experienced substantial weight loss through diet, exercise or bariatric (gastric banding and bypass) surgery.
The procedure is done under a general anesthetic and is an outpatient procedure. Patients typically take 7-10 days to recover and return to work. Patients can return to exercise as soon as they feel comfortable.

Buttock Augmentation with Implants
The buttock can be augmented with a silicone implant to improve shape, volume and projection. These implants are placed through an incision within the gluteal cleft. The procedure typically is done under IV sedation or general anesthesia. Like all procedures that use implants, problems can develop with implant infection and changes in implant position. Because of the use of standardized implants, buttock augmentation with implants cannot be precisely tailored for each individual.
Alternatives to buttock implants, such as the Brazilian Butt Lift, use one's own fat to contour and shape the buttocks is a more precise manner and avoid the use of an artificial implant.
