Fall is a wonderful time of year when we return from summer
vacations restored, refreshed and ready to settle back into our
normal routine.
Settling back into the normal swing of things following summer
adventures can be stressful. The key is balancing family time with
work time - AND making sure you still make time for YOU.
Here are some tips on making this Fall season stress-free for you
and your family:
1. One to two weeks before school
starts, ease your child into a consistent school-night
routine.
2. Make time to talk to your kids about going
back to school. Ask them how they are feeling, and let them know how
you are feeling.
3. Plan fun events throughout
weekends in September - it will give you something to look forward
to at the end of a long work/school week.
4. Emphasize
the positive things about Summer activities coming to a close, like
catching up with old friends, starting a regular exercise regimen
and upcoming holidays.
5. Take time out of each day to
do something you enjoy - whether its taking 10 minutes to meditate,
going for a walk in the park, or writing in your journal. The amount
of time spent is less important than the act of making time for
yourself a priority.
